May 20, 2010 10:00 PM AWST UPS to set up Asia Pacific's largest shared service base in Hefei
The facility will be the largest of its kind in the Asia Pacific region and is scheduled to start construction in August, Logistics Week reported. UPS Asia-Pacific vice president Richard Loi said the shared service centre would re-integrate internal business processes in the form of service outsourcing and raise production efficiency and cost effectiveness through finance support, back-office sales and market support as well as provide hundreds of jobs. UPS conducted an investigation for nearly six months in a number of cities including Wuhan, Chengdu and Hefei before deciding on Hefei.
